Stay hungry stay foolish

No its not about steve jobs. I stayed hungry for one full day. No not really. But I did miss a couple of meals. I had a late night dinner. Ate just a slice of bread and a glass of milk. And had dinner the next night. So the claim I made about myslef about being incapable of staying hungry has been taken back happily :).
I was just going through the orkut profile of someone I know from hostel. Just an acquaintance. He always had this reputation of being a wierdo. Doing random stuff. Being abstract all the time. He still has all that stuff on his page. I have my doubts that that man knows anything about anything he keeps talking about. He just has this reputation to stand up to. Because in college u know, being something different makes you popular. And who doesnt want to be popular. But sometime down the line (ok that sounds creepy .. i m not that old :D ) you find out that you are not the person you pretend to be. And you decide to be yourself. Ok not completely. You cant renounce everybody's hopes on you. There are some pretenses you have to carry through all your life.
On the same subject a friend of mine once commented that its a tremendous quality to be able to live low profile. You can be yourself without any expectations. Nobody notices you.
BTW this is quite similar to that book "Fall" by Camus which is the story of a guy who has lived a perfect life. He has helped everybody he could. But he thinks he did that just so that people could see what a great man he was. Because once there was a man drowning in the river and there was no one around. He didnt tr to save the guy because no one was watching at so it didnt mattered. A man does everything for reputation. Either to earn it or maintain it.
